What happens in a Session?

Music therapy interventions are designed to be flexible, adaptable and evidence-based, tailored to the specific needs and goals of each individual client.

Sessions are between 30 & 60 minutes.

Sessions are typically held on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

Sessions can be conducted individually or in group settings, depending on the needs of the individual.

Music Therapists use evidence-based interventions during sessions to target clinical goals that are tailored to the individual. Some interventions may include:

  • Improvisation

  • Instrument Playing

  • Recording music

  • Music listening

  • Lyric analysis

  • Creating art to music

  • Singing

  • Drumming

  • Movement to music

  • Instrumental play
